RISE 1:1

Support in Motion

Renew’s RISE 1:1 program provides Responsive Individualized Support and Engagement for children and youth when Children’s Aid Societies, Indigenous child and family well-being agencies, or other referring agencies need flexible 1:1 support around a child’s daily care, safety, routine, or transition plan.

This may be helpful when a caregiver needs backup, a placement is under pressure, family time needs support, safety concerns are present, or school and community routines are not holding as planned.

For the child or youth, RISE 1:1 means having someone alongside them who understands the plan, notices what helps, and can support the next step in front of them.

RISE 1:1 is separate from residential care, respite, and counselling. It is individualized child and youth support connected to the goals, safety considerations, and service plan identified by the agency and care team.

When a Placement Needs Extra Support

RISE 1:1 can support foster homes, kinship homes, customary care arrangements, family homes, or other agency-approved settings when extra hands-on support may help reduce pressure, maintain routines, or support the caregiver.

When Safety and Supervision Are a Concern

Some requests involve children or youth who may leave without permission, struggle with unsafe coping, become overwhelmed, or need closer support during higher-risk times of day. RISE 1:1 helps follow the agency’s safety direction while keeping the child or youth engaged in a respectful and age-appropriate way.

When the Day Needs More Structure

Support may include school routines, appointments, transportation, community outings, homework, life skills, family time, sibling connection, recreation, or activities that help the child or youth stay occupied, connected, and supported.

What Makes RISE 1:1 Different

RISE 1:1 is practical support in real settings. It is not limited to an office, a session time, or one type of intervention. Staff work alongside the child or youth in the places where support is needed, while staying connected to the agency’s goals, safety plan, documentation needs, and care team direction. Our role is to help the day work better for the child or youth and the people supporting them.

Planning and Referral

Each request begins with a conversation about the child or youth’s needs, the agency’s goals, safety considerations, location, staffing, timing, documentation needs, and how the support will connect to the child or youth’s Plan of Care, safety plan, or service goals. If your agency is looking for individualized 1:1 support for a child or youth, connect with our team to discuss fit and next steps.
